The 2020 Lagos International Poetry Festival (LIPFEST) is set to take place from October 1st to November 1st, 2020.
This year’s edition will be the first wholly virtual festival, presenting the opportunity for greater reach and participation. It will centre on the realities that have unfolded before us during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the theme, Love & Light and Other Clichés, a meditation on the ‘tender gravity of kindness.

Given the climes we are in, art festivals such as this provide the opportunity to shed inhibitions, and bring the tools available for confronting our present realities to light.
LIPFEST will be a month-long celebration of literary and performance art. As usual, the festival will feature a panel of prominent artistic figures and several guest curators from around the world.
It will also feature 25 poets, artists, and performers from every continent of the world and will host over 20 events including performances, conversations, virtual open mics, workshops, and events for children. Guests and programme will be announced soon.
