Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, is fast growing to become a mega city. This phenomenal growth is largely due to a new breed of young business owners, entrepreneurs, who are coming up with business ideas and services.
These young men and women have provided solutions and services by thinking outside the box, and coming up with ideas that are providing jobs, generating income, and driving the economy at large.
They are the Abuja Young Entrepreneurs. Fusion Lifestyle Limited came up with the idea to host The Abuja Young Entrepreneurs Awards (AYE Awards) to celebrate these young people who have stood apart from their peers, to do more for the city and the people in Abuja.
The aim of the awards is to encourage ingenuity, while promoting self-reliance and independence in young individuals. By recognizing the young individuals who have been able to set up their businesses, been successful at it, and have been able to stand out while doing so, it is hoped that the younger generation will be motivated, thus creating a cycle of change.
It promises to be a night of fun and glamour as the carpets are rolled out to welcome the nominees and guests to the occasion. Nominations for the award began in December last year, and a list of 52 nominees in 11 categories was finally released. The nominees in the different categories are:
