  FC Lorient of France and Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Terem Moffi, has hailed football as a unifying factor in Nigeria. Moffi, 22, was born in Calabar, Southern Nigeria, before moving to Europe six years ago to pursue his professional career.

The French Ligue1 star was a teenager when Nigeria last won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013 and was largely unknown when Nigeria featured in the Russia 2018 World Cup, but 14 goals in his debut season in France has earned him a call up to the Super Eagles on two occasions despite stiff competition for the number 9 spot in the team. Moffi said “football in Africa is the second religion.
“The Lorient striker went further to say: “In Africa, we love football. In Nigeria, football brings people together. When the Super Eagles play, the whole country becomes one. Everyone unites to support the national team.”

Moffi dreams of being a part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon and revealed dreams of featuring in the UEFA Champions League and winning an international trophy.
“As a young footballer, you do not end your career in Lorient. FCL is a launching pad for my career; I want to play in the Champions League, I want to win as many trophies as possible. I want to represent my country at CAN and the World Cup. If I really want to dream without limits, the goal would be to win an international trophy.” Terem Moffi
