Team TIG Grabs 11 Medals for Nigeria

Team TIG Nigeria finished the Africa Gymnastic Level System as proud gymnasts, grabbing a total of 11 medals at the competition held in Pretoria South Africa. The Nigerian contingent won nine Gold and two Silver medals at the event staged at the Centurion Gauteng.

Excited over their big win, the head coach of Tony International Gymnastics (TIG), Anthony Asuquo, thanked Nigerians and the Minister for Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, for their continued support towards the team of youngsters who totally showed Africa what stuff they are made of. “I thank God and Nigerians who stood by us, especially parents of these gymnasts. More importantly, the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, for his drive in ensuring the growth of gymnastics in Nigeria,” he said.

The Gold medalists at the AGLS include Deval Liyel-Imoke, Gerder Liyel-Imoke, and Voder Liyel-Imoke, children of former Cross Rivers State governor, Liyel Imoke. Others Gold medalists are Amal Salisu, Adila Salisu, Tamilore Galacticos Dorcas, Tomisin Babatunde and Emeka Ekezie.

Amal Salisu and Adila Salisu also grabbed two Silver medals at the event.

The Africa Gymnastic Level System is an annual inter-club Gymnastic competition hosted by the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
