Super Eagles Win World Cup Ticket

Super Eagles have booked their ticket to next year’s World Cup in Brazil. The Stephen Keshi-led Eagles defeated Ethiopia 2-0 at the UJ Eusene Stadium, Calabar on Saturday to send Nigerian fans into raptures. Super Eagles took a 2-1 first leg advantage into the match and put the game to bed in the 20th minute when Victor Moses converted a penalty to give Nigeria the lead. They had to wait till the 82nd minute to get the second goal through Victor Obinna Nsofor to seal the win and ensure their presence in the world’s biggest football showdown next year. Nigeria will be one of five countries flying the African flag at the tournament.
