In a manner typical of African champions, the Super Eagles of Nigeria thrashed Burkina Faso 4 – 1 in a friendly match. The match was played on Tuesday in Kaduna, and featured key players of the Super Eagles team.
Brown Ideye scored the first and second goals, in the 13th and 43rd minute. Shola Ameobi of Newcastle United scored the third goal in the 53rd minute, before Emmanuel Emenike scored the fourth goal in the 63rd minute. The Stallions of Burkina Faso later got a compensation goal.
Players featured were Shola Ameobi, Nosa Igiebor, Obinna Nsofor, Elderson Echiejile (substituted for Benjamin Francis), Efe Ambrose (substituted for Solomon Kwambe), Ogenyi Onazi, James Okwuosa, John Ogu, Sunday Mba, Uche Nwofor, Nnamdi Oduamadi and Austin Ejide.
One of the forwards who scored for the Super Eagles against Malawi at the weekend, Victor Moses, didn’t feature in the game. He returned to London with an injured John Obi Mikel.
