ConnectNigeria_SE The Super Eagles of Nigeria climbed just a place up in the latest FIFA/Coca Cola World rankings released yesterday to maintain their third position in the continent. Despite their impressive second round finish at the World Cup in Brazil, Nigeria have been ranked amongst countries like Denmark, Romania, Ukraine, Sweden, Scotland, Venezuela, Serbia and Turkey, who failed to qualify for the biggest football event. Nigeria remain the worlds third-placed African side coming 33rd on the rankings, with 673 points behind Algeria and Cote d’Ivoire who maintain their 24th and 25th positions respectively. Newly crowned world champions, Germany remain at the acme of the ranking table with 1736 points, followed by Argentina and Netherlands with 1604 points and 1507 points.
