Despite the slight drop on the global log, the Super Eagles still maintained their place as the 3rd best ranked team in Africa, behind the Senegalese national team, and the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.
The Super Eagles’ next opponents, when the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers kicks off in November, 2019, are Benin Republic and Lesotho. These nations are ranked 82nd and 138th, respectively. Nigeria will host Benin Republic on November 14, 2019 in what will be the Eagles’ first match in the qualifiers for 2021 AFCON, and will travel to Maseru five days later to confront Lesotho in the second round of matches. The next FIFA ranking is scheduled to be made public on November 28, 2019.
