Super Eagles ‘B’ team were scheduled to face Sudan on January 17th and Finland five days later but a sudden change of heart by the Sudanese has prompted the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) into swift action. The team, coached by Daniel “The Bull” Amokachi, will now tackle the Yemeni national team on the 17th of January at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai instead. Sudan had taken the place of Mali, who were initially billed to play the home-based squad but pulled out of the game, and now Yemen will replace the former. The home based Eagles kicked off their Gulf tour with a narrow 1-0 loss to one of the 2015 AFCON favourites, Cote D’ Ivoire last Sunday. The team consists of officials led by NFF Technical Committee Chairman, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu and Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, the NFF, Head Technical Department and 19 players, after Warri Wolves striker, Gbolahan Salami, was released to finalise his contract with a Serbian club arrived Dubai by road on Tuesday afternoon, and are staying at the Time Grand Plaza Hotel. It is part of the rebuilding process embarked on by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to save Nigerian football after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
