Rangers of Scotland manager, Steven Gerrard, has heaped praises on his Nigerian midfielder, Joseph Aribo, for his performance on his international debut for Nigeria, which also saw him register his first goal as a Super Eagles player.
Aribo, who saw 90 minutes of action for Nigeria against Ukraine in Tuesday night’s (September 10, 2019) international friendly at the Dnipro Arena, Ukraine, has been praised by Gerrard for his decent show for the West African football giants.
I just spoke to Joe. He’s in a fantastic place, smiling away. Congratulations to him. His first game he manages to get a goal and he was rewarded for his form as a Rangers player. It was his first call-up, so it shows you he’s at the right place, and he’s playing football at the right level… At last he’s being recognised as an international player.

The midfielder has been a key player for Gerrard’s side so far in the 2019/2020 campaign after joining the Scottish giants from second-tier English club, Charlton Athletic, during this summer’s transfer window.
