Stay in School

In January this year, the StayInSchoolng team came together to enrol 75 orphans, abused or abandoned children into 8 primary schools to give them a shot at a better future and a prod to achieve their dreams.

These children make up a minute percentage of the UNESCO projected 4.7million primary aged Out-Of-School children in Nigeria placing us as a country with the highest number of its young people out of school. These children abound in several settlements, clusters and villages scattered around the country and need help to attend school. Together we will work towards reducing these figures by enrolling 200 children into school this September.

Join the StayInSchoolng team as we work towards making this dream a reality with the on-going 30days Community Fundraiser aimed at raising 2million naira in the month of July tagged #5kForEducation.

How Does #5kForEducation Work?

  • Step 1: Sign up to enroll 1 child. It costs 10k per session per child.
  • Step 2: Donate 5k and speak to 1 friend or colleague to donate 5k as well totaling 10k; the required amount for that child.
  • Step 3: Pay money into 0124000879 GTB Young Minds Foundation and send details of yourself and friend to stayinschoolng@yahoo.com or SMS 08097040809
  • You can also choose to raise funds within your community for more than 1 child or donate education supplies (School books, uniforms, stationaries e.t.c.)

StayInSchoolng Initiative is a proactive response to the increasing number of Out-of-School Children (OOSC) in Nigeria specifically in the primary school sector and aims at bridging the evident gap in the education sector by providing opportunities for orphans and vulnerable children who fall into these categories: Living/working on the streets, Abandoned, Poor households, Child-headed households e.t.c) to attain a primary education. The project extends to drop-outs and children who have never been to a primary school. The children being sponsored under the project reside in poor and rural communities within urban centres.

One city at a time we will reach out to one more vulnerable child. For more information follow @stayinschoolng, email stayinschoolng@yahoo.com, visit www.stayinschoolng.weebly.com or call/text 08097040809, 08094000091.
