Switch FA Trials

Are you a young Nigerian footballer within the age range of 16-21 and willing to take your career to the next level? The Switch Football Academy Trial, scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 5, 2019 is a perfect platform to start. The trial program will start by 10:00am at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium Surulere, Lagos state. The registration fee for the program is 12,750 naira. CAF Confederations Cup

The 2019 CAF Confederations Cup continues this month with Nigeria Premier Football League side Rangers FC of Enugu participating as the only remaining Nigerian team in the competition. The Flying Antelopes beat AS Pelican of Gabon 3-1 on Sunday September 29, 2019 to book a place in the next phase of the continental contest. The draws of the Play-off round will hold on October 9, 2019 and the first leg ties will take place on October 27, 2019, while the second leg matches will hold on November 3, 2019. Rangers will be hoping to advance into the group stages of the competition and fulfill their objective of winning the tournament.

Okota City Marathon

All is set for the Okota City Marathon which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Registration for the race is currently ongoing at https://tinyurl.com/okotacitymarathon and the registration fee is 500 naira. The first place winner goes home with a prize of N150,000, second place gets N100,000, third place gets N50,000. There are smaller prices for fourth and fifth place runners.

Pink October Walk, Race & Cycle Against Cancer Lagos, 2019

The Pink October Lagos is an event meant to raise awareness about cancer, and also provide free cancer screening and stimulate intentional action against cancer. The event is scheduled to hold on October 26, 2019 from 8:09 am – 5: 09pm at LTv/Radio Lagos Arena Lateef Jakande, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos state.

2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup

The 18th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup is set to kick off this month. It will commence on October 26, 2019 and end on November 17, 2019. The biennial international men’s youth football championship will hold in Brazil with a total of 24 teams from 6 confederations vying for the trophy. Nigeria holds the record for having won the tournament more times than any nation with a total of 5 trophies. The Nigerian U-17 boys will also participate in this year’s tournament and will be looking to add a sixth U-17 World Cup title to their trophy cabinet. Nigeria begin their quest for a sixth title when they confront the Hungarian team on October 26 in what would be their first group game, before facing Ecuador on October 29, and Australia on November 1 to complete their group stage matches.
