Xperia-Z Sony has launched its Xperia Z Smartphone in Nigeria, following its announcement in January and launch in Dubai — last month. The phone is powered by Android OS, has a 5″ Full HD 1080 pixel Reality Display, Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, the mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and a 13MP fast-capture camera. Speaking at the product launch, the Sony Mobile Communications Marketing Manager for Africa, Younes Cherkaoui, said, “The Xperia Z is a game-changer in smartphone technology. It has generated a great deal of excitement internationally since its official launch at the CES in Las Vegas. We anticipate the ultimate range of rich user experiences offered on this stellar model from the Xperia range to increase the momentum several times over in key African markets and Nigeria is one of these key markets.” “The smartphone shares capabilities with Sony digital cameras and features Exmor PS for mobile, the world’s first image sensor with High Dynamic Range video recording for smartphones.” He continued, “One unique feature of the Smartphone is that it has water resistance, as photographs and videos could be taken in water at a distance of one metre below water level. The phone could be in water and still respond to incoming calls. While in one metre deep water, the phone could still ring out and its user could still receive calls with Bluetooth device while the phone is still in water. It has a powerful camera that can take bright pictures in the dark, without applying the flash mechanism.”
