Young forward, Dominic Solanke has penned down a five-year professional contract with English Premier League (EPL) table leaders, Chelsea. The Stamford Bridge club made this known via the club’s official website.
An elated Solanke also took to social media to celebrate the deal. Solanke, 17, christened Dominic Ayodele Solanke, is an England youth international but is also eligible to represent Nigeria. He was part of Chelsea’s pre-season team this summer but had to settle for a place in the U-21 squad for the new season following the return of club legend, Didier Drogba and signing of Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers.
He was the top scorer for the U-21 side last season and has the FA Youth Cup winner’s medal to show for his great contribution last term. The team also had a decent run in the Youth Champions League.
