The Hausa men in #LionHeart were not gatemen.
Nkem Owoh as an Ibo Uncle didn’t outsmart his niece. Phyno, the only son of a millionaire wasnt prodigal. Kanayo O. Kanayo didn’t do blood money. Nollywood is getting there! Thank you @GenevieveNnaji1 for changing the narrative. — Wale Adetona (@iSlimfit) January 8, 2019
I just saw @GenevieveNnaji1‘s #LionHeart. This is not an authentic Nigerian Movie. A Nigerian Movie with no wicked relative? Where a patriarch has a life-threatening medical condition & it’s not from the village? Where Ur uncle doesn’t try to kill U/Ur father but saves the day?

“Your continued stay is an extension of ur irrelevance”- Pete Edochie. This is my new catch phrase ? #LionHeart

So I just watched #LionHeart, without exaggerating about the quality, transposition between scenes, wardrobe. I have to say kudos to @GenevieveNnaji1 I connected with this movie. I couldn’t even pause it, I was interested to the end!!!!

Another impressive aspect of Genevieve’s #Lionheart is its humanizing portrayal of the North as a place of truly enterprising and integrating people, beyond the familiar Nollywood caricatures of the North as producers of gate-men and unintelligent illiterates. We are progressing.

I got to watch the movie #LionHeart thinking it was going to be spectacular based on the widespread reviews and publicity it had garnered so far.
Let’s just say I wasn’t blown away by what I saw yesterday. I’ll give the producers of the movie some credit — Jsn O (@jsnolima) January 2, 2019
Lionheart just came out 29mins ago and they’ve already messed something up. The subtitles say Hausa instead of Igbo and it’s so frustrating, do better.#lionheartthemovie #lionheart #Netflix pic.twitter.com/MKOhacrNwO

Truth be told. Genevieve’s #Lionheart on Netflix has no content. The hype is just hype. It’s a first from her though, hopefully her next movie will be better.

ASUU Strike This week, it was reported that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) met with the federal government on the 7th of January, 2019. The meeting which was called to find a common ground between ASUU and the government was reported to have yielded N15.4 billion for salary shortfalls and another N20 billion for payment of earned allowances for university lecturers. However, the National chairman of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, has disclosed that the strike will not be called off until the government implements all that it has promised the body.Simi and Adekunle Gold are getting married today in a small wedding were only 300 invited Guests would be in attendance. That’s the kinda wedding I want, just that in my case, there will be just 35-50 Guests.

So far on government proposal, we have not taken a decision. And our strike is still ongoing.
— Official_ASUU (@ASUUNGR) January 9, 2019
ASUU was able to squeeze out 35 billion naira from the Federal Government, perhaps because a major election is around the corner. This is very good, and I commend the Federal Government for this.
But it is a temporary measure. University Autonomy is the way forward. — Dr. Dípò | The Career? (@OgbeniDipo) January 7, 2019
Strike update: The @ASUUNGR president has the following information for the general public, “Our members said they want to see evidence of satisfactory implementation of all that @AsoRock have proposed before the strike can be called off. ”
— Official_ASUU (@ASUUNGR) January 11, 2019
The @AsoRock must act in a way to convince the union that the agreement has not been set aside; to show that government has not set aside the agreement , they should release one tranche .”
— Official_ASUU (@ASUUNGR) January 11, 2019
After a while you will become a nuisance in your parents house because of ASUU strike. They won’t say it directly, but they’ll be dropping hints.
“Ahah, Dipo, you are still sleeping?” “Funke, oya come and go and grind pepper, since you have been pressing phone all day.” Lmao. — Dr. Dípò | The Career? (@OgbeniDipo) January 7, 2019
