#FreeToyin Last week on social media, the major trend was built around the government’s continued crackdown on prominent protesters from #EndSARS. This week, the talk was generally around a significantly smaller group of protesters who were rounded up nearly two weeks back when they set about putting #EndSARS graffiti in front the National Assembly in the Three Arms Zone area of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. Among them was photographer and Twitter user, @callherrahila, who was arrested and subsequently detained then transferred to Suleja Prison after a hurried court process all within three days by the Nigerian Police. Thankfully, the young woman and her co-protesters have now been released since Thursday and from the video she posted, upon release, they all seemed in high spirits in spite of the terrible ordeal of the past ten days or so.

The hashtag is also #EndSARS related as budding artiste and influencer, Eromosele Adene, who has been in police custody for over two weeks now due to his prominent involvement in the Alausa protests. The video of his sister narrating how he was picked went viral and has given the hashtag new life. We pray for his survival and release.Sign up to the Connect Nigeria daily newsletter

Davido
The 28-year-old was the one artiste who set the past week alight on Twitter. For those who do not know, he released his much-anticipated album. A Better Time, last Friday but before that he dropped only his second and third lead singles in the lead-up to the album, on Monday. Holy Ground ft Nicki Minaj and So Crazy ft Lil Baby. So far, it has garnered good reviews. Check it out and let me know what you think. Featured Image Source: GH GossipGot a suggestion? Contact us: editor at connectnigeria dot com
