Nigerian Elections Postponed
Last week, the Nigerian elections which were scheduled for February 16 were unexpectedly canceled at the last minute. The postponement of the elections proved quite overwhelming for many Nigerians who took to social media to express their sentiments about the turnout of events. The elections have however now been scheduled for February 23 and Nigerians are in earnest preparation.

Veteran Nigerian actor Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe was reported to be gravely ill and in critical condition. The actor who is said to be battling diabetic conditions was interviewed on radio where he recounted the experiences leading to his ailment and pleaded for financial support from Nigerians. Since his ordeal was made known on social media, several discussions have been raised concerning his treatment and there has been significant progress.
Atiku Pledges To Privatise NNPC If Elected
Nigerian presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar has pledged to privatise Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) which he branded as a “mafia organisation”. In his words, “I am committed to these privatisations, as I have said. I swear even if they are going to kill me, I will do it”. He also made reference to his previous attempt to end the NNPC when he was vice-president under Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.
