Largest Retail Outlet in Africa, Shoprite, will open its sixth store in Nigeria, in Ilorin Kwara State, in a joint venture between the organization and the state government. The store will be the fourth biggest in Nigeria – 3,700 square meters. It will have neigbhours like KFC and Max clothing and will give farmers and local food producers to get their products to its shelf.
Shoprite opened its first store in Nigeria, at The Palms in Lekki, in December 2005, and was commissioned by then-President Olusegun Obasanjo. It has two other
stores in Lagos – Surulere and Ikeja, one in Enugu and another in Abuja.
