Ex-Super Eagles International, Segun Odegbami, has tasked the Nigeria senior men’s team to defeat South Africa in their quarter final tie in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The football veteran believes that the Eagles have all it takes to take down the strong Bafana Bafana who will also be looking to make an assertive win over the Eagles when they meet on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.
“They should also listen to Gernot Rohr’s instructions so that they will have the desirable result in the quarter-final.”

Odegbami encouraged the boys to go out an do Nigeria proud because the entire country is rooting for them, and their fans expect nothing less from the mighty Super Eagles.
Nigeria and South Africa have met on 13 different occasions, with the Eagles winning five of those encounters, and Bafana four.
Speaking on the South African team, Odegbami advised the Eagles to take caution and not be too high minded before the game.
“We are the underdogs, let me put it like that because they [South Africa] have a psychological advantage. In the past couple of games that we have played, we have not been able to beat them.
“The South Africans are on top. For so many years, we were just beating them everywhere, at home or away but suddenly in the recent years they have come up and now they believe they know how to deal with us so that psychology will help them.”
