Samsung electronics has unveiled a new campaign called ‘What If I Can’ aimed at shifting the mindsets of people to believing they can contribute towards the greater good as they have power to change people’s lives and circumstances. The campaign will run across all the African countries where Samsung currently operates. In a statement signed by the company, Samsung said “What If I Can is about the power of a human step – which displays a strong message”. Samsung recently collaborated with a UK-based company, Pavegen to lay a 68-tile walkway in Sandton City of Johannesburg. The tiles have the ability to collect kinetic motion from people’s footsteps and store it as energy. The walkway also consists of an interactive data screen, displaying a leader board of real-time footfall data while providing immediate visual payback. This initiative was created to contribute towards benefiting underprivileged communities in Africa to prove that even the smallest action of movement can make a huge difference to the standards of living across the world.
