Sade’s last song was Flowers to the Universe which debuted on Ava DuVernay’s box office film A Wrinkle in Time earlier this year. Widows

Widows is a feature film by Steve McQueen, (director of the multiple award-winning film, 12 Years A Slave), adapted from the 1983 UK television series of the same title. Widows is set in present-day Chicago and follows the three widows of thieves who met their death in a failed robbery attempt. The wives take it upon themselves to finish the job. It stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on the 8th of September 2018. It will be officially released in the United Kingdom on the 6th of November, and in the United States on the 16th of November 2018. McQueen described working with Sade as an honour, referring to her as “an incomparable talent and incredible artist who so rarely releases new material”. Sade’s decision to work with the team was born out of her fondness of the original Widows series which aired on British television thirty-five years ago. Sade has not announced a date for the song’s release, but we will get a chance to hear it in the movie as soon as it appears in cinemas.
