You’ve probably heard the proverb; Absence makes the heart grow fonder. One person who has remained relevant and has turned her scarcity into beautiful art is no other than multi-award winning Helen Folashade Adu, better known as Sade Adu.
You may remember her hit songs; Sweetest Taboo, Smooth Operator and No Ordinary Love.
Sade has recently recorded an original song titled Flower of the Universe for the Disney movie, A Wrinkle In Time, after she received a call from the movie’s director Ava DuVernay.
Sade has only released two studio albums in the last 25 years, with her last song recorded eight years ago; her band released their Lovers Rock album in 2000, and then Soldier Of Love in 2010.
A Wrinkle In Time
A Wrinkle In Time, which will be released on the 9th of March, is based on Madeleine L’Engle’s 1962 novel about a young girl who embarks on an interstellar quest to find her missing father. It features stars like Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and Storm Reid, with music by DJ Khaled and Beyoncé proteges, Chloe X Halle.
Hopefully, we might see another Sade Adu album before the end of the year.
