A Review of Twells Smartphone Filmmaking Workshop

Saturday 28th of May would go down in the annals of history as a memorable day especially for the participants of the Treasure Wells Smartphone Film Making workshop which held at Sleek Studio opposite Silverbird Galleria Ahmadu Bello way, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The workshop, which was tagged “Are you ready to start making professional videos with your mobile phone?” was hosted by Ike Nnaebue. It featured sections like smartphone video, social video, mobile journalism and later on a workshop where the participants were divided into groups for practicals.

During the first session Ike Nnaebue spoke to the participants on how to shoot a video with a smartphone, necessary equipments and the basics for shooting a video. He successful impressed it upon the participants that they should not let anything be a hindrance but should go ahead and make the video, emphasing the basic requirement to be a smartphone.

The workshop session began with a question and answer section which was anchored by Ike Nnabue and Malik Afegbua. After that, the participants were divided into two groups and were asked to make a video – a short film or talk show, produce it and then present their production to the house.

Generally the workshop was a resounding success as the participant were exposed to a lot of novel ideas and they were challenged to go out there and produce videos with their mobile phones, we want to say thank you to ConnectNigeria for putting together this event in conjunction with TWELLS. We look forward to more of this in the future.
