With a water fountain lit up by bright lights, the night-time ambience of Zenith Water Margin on Adeniran Ogunsanya Street draws evening revellers with a promise of oriental seclusion. Large paper balloons with long tassels hang down from the ceiling. There are parking attendants, and a bevy of cheerful staff to usher you upstairs to the restaurant. The décor is clean and relaxing, very zen-ish; the furniture that match are arranged in clusters, and low tables and couches are used as opposed to hard back plastic chairs. The colour scheme is in earth tones of burnt reds and browns, and when you are seated, the attendants dim the light a bit. Homey and romantic, the Zenith Water Margin is a great place for a date.
For the evening, I chose fish; spicy fish. They were out of mocktails, so I ordered a strawberry smoothie. The meal didn’t take long to arrive and soon I had before me a scrumptious looking dish- a large fish, fried nice and dry, with veggies chopped with mathematical precision guarding it.
I had been worried that the food would be too hot and spicy, but it was amazing!
So, if you have been thinking of where to have a special dinner with that special someone, and Surulere is among the areas you can get to, then Zenith Water Margin should be on your Top 10 Places list.
