A former president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Sani-Lulu Abdullahi, has called on the organizers of the 2018 National Sport Festival to amplify publicity for the event.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, Abdullahi said given the longstanding history of the NSF, the organizers ought to have taken publicity a lot more seriously.
“I wonder why the organisers are not publicizing the event which is about to kick-off. A sporting event that about 36 states of the country will be participating in, there ought to be enough publicity given to it.”
The NSF is a biennial multi-sport event organised by the federal government through the National Sports Commission to give local athletes the much needed room to showcase their skill and prepare for international events.
The first edition of the festival was held after the civil war in 1973 at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, as part of the measures put in place to promote peace and ensure an extensive cultural inclusion across Nigeria.
The 2018 edition of the festival is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, December 6, 2018 and run till Sunday, December 16, 2018.
