The newly wed royal, Prince Harry of Wales – now titled the Duke of Sussex – will be making a visit to Nigeria soon following his extraordinary star-studded wedding that took place on the 19th of May at the St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
The prince wedded Meghan Markle in the same church where he was christened as a three month-old baby.
In an exclusive scoop gathered by
Complete Sport, on his arrival to
Nigeria, the prince is expected to be appointed the
Honorary Life President of the Nigeria Rugby Federation.
This honor is due to the Prince’s critical involvement in helping resolve a year-long federation dispute that saw the Nigerian side banned from the international rugby 15s and 7s competitions.
Honorary Life President of the Nigeria Rugby Federation
According to the information the Complete Sport team gathered, the Prince watched closely as Nigeria was prevented from participating in two consecutive Commonwealth Game. Finding that it was almost pointless stopping the Nigerian team from competition, Prince Harry met with President of the African Rugby Federation in London to resolve the issue and lift the suspension ban on Nigeria.
This action has led the Nigeria Rugby Federation to name Prince Harry the honorary life president of the federation.
In other reports, the Prince will donate a trophy and is set to raise a 7s of his own to compete in the competition.
Prince Harry will be joined in the competition with American 7s player of the year, Perry Baker, and other top Rugby players such as, Maro Itoje, and Sonny Bill and Mike Tindall.
