In partnership with Africa FinTech Foundry, Pegasus FinTech Challenge aims to help accelerate seeding funding and investments in FinTech startups. Application is only open to FinTech startups operating in Nigeria. Interested participants should send details of their product, upload the mandatory documents as well as submit a pitch deck. Material for the matchmaking and due diligence process before the pitching stage is gathered information submitted by startups during their application. Successful applicants will be nominated to participate in a pitch event from where the top 3 contenders will be selected and awarded. The 1st runner-up and the 2nd runner-up will win cash prizes while the grand prize winner gets seed capital. The winner will also be exposed to benefits & opportunities such as seed capital sourcing as well as integration with existing DLM Capital offerings and all its subsidiaries.

Eligibility to compete depends on the choice of solutions such as those focusing on technologies strengthening financial services. The FinTech Startup company can be pre-revenue with at least a year of operation in Nigeria, but it must have a scalable product or service with a significant total addressable market and a clear growth model. Selection will be based on Business Scalability, Financial Empowerment, Product Assessment, Proprietary Technology/ Innovation Deployed, Product Sustainability, and Team Responsibility. Application Closes June 18, 2021. The top 10 submissions will be selected by the jury on July 18th, 2021, and the Top 3 Finalists will be selected on August 9th, 2021. Judging of the Top 3 contenders will take place between 10th Aug and 10th Sept 2021 – as the grand prize winner will be announced on the closing day, 10th September 2021.
