If you are looking to enter the film industry in Nigeria, this seems like a good year to try. With so much money going into funding the sector, and with new film academies springing up, it becomes another great option to look into. Kingsley Ogoro, the director and CEO of Klink Studios, is currently building a new film house, which would be called The Kingsley Ogoro Film Academy. This Nollywood producer who has films like ‘Osuofia In London’ under his belt has collaborated with a bank to make this possible. The edifice is to be located at Surulere, Lagos, and will cost 1 billion naira. The school will teach sound, editing, directing et al, and will run in conjunction with the French embassy and CEA in France. There will be monthly intensive workshops, and experts in different fields in Hollywood and other recognized film industries will be brought into Nigeria to teach prospective students and bring them up to the international standard. This project has been on-going for five years now.
