Acting President Yemi Osibajo had a meeting with the local organizing committee of the International Press Institute (IPI) World Congress Members of the Global Network of Free Media at the State House on Wednesday, 16th August 2017. In a closed door meeting, when the Nigerian chapter of the International Press Institute (IPI) paid Osinbajo a courtsey visit to intimate him on plans for the forthcoming event scheduled for Abuja in June 2018, Osibajo reassures of the government commitment to private- public partnership. He expressed that the President Buhari led administration would partner with the Nigerian chapter to host a hitch-free world congress. He encouraged the committee to ensure putting on its agenda the issue of hate speech and its implication for our polity and for peace and security, as he hopes for ways to deal with the issue as the issue is likened to cancer in the society. The leader of the delegation, Chairman of THISDAY newspaper, Nduka Obaigbena, solicited the support of the government. He appreciated the government for its commitment and assures the Acting President that hate speech would be on the agenda.
