Super Eagles of Nigeria and Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen, has been voted the Italian Serie A Player of the Month for September 2021. The Italian Footballers’ Association voted the Nigerian after series of impressive performances in the league that has seen him beat critics who questioned his quality when he joined from Lille in the summer of 2020.

Osimhen did not have a rosy start in Naples owing to a troublesome injury and testing positive for COVID-19 as he had to struggle for form under former coach, Gennaro Gattuso.
With his injury woes gone, the Super Eagle scored seven goals in six outings for the Luciano Spalleti side in September and is looking sharper in front of goal. Spalleti also emerged Manager of the Month in the league.

For the Parnetopei, Osimhen who is part of a campaign that has seen them go top of the league table will hope to continue in his blistering form both in the domestic league and the Europa League.
Osimhen has also been in great form for the Super Eagles as Coach Gernot Rohr who said he has all it takes to become a world-class striker, will be counting on him for goals when Nigeria take on the Central African Republic in a 2022 World Cup qualifier second leg game scheduled to kick off on Sunday, 10th October 2021 by 5 pm (WAT) in Douala
