Super Falcons of Nigeria forward, Asisat Oshoala, has continued with her impressive form for her Spanish club, FC Barcelona Femeni.
Super Zee, as she is fondly called, has scored in three games consecutively in a season that has seen the Spanish giants register outstanding match results. The Nigerian women’s national team captain registered a goal in her club’s 5-0 thrashing of their Belarusian opponents, FC Minsk, in the first leg of their last 16 tie in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on the eve of Thursday, October 17, 2019.
Oshoala and fellow Nigerian, Emueje Ogbiagbevha, who plays for Minsk, both started for their respective clubs. Three-time African Female Footballer of the Year, Oshoala, opened scoring for Barcelona Femeni from close range in the sixth minute of the encounter before a Martha Torrejón strike made it 2-0 in the 20th minute. Aitana made it 3-0 in the 22nd minute after a delightful pass from Oshoala saw her fire a low shot into the bottom corner of Minks’ goal. In the 26th minute, Aitana grabbed a brace for herself after making it 4-0. Jenni Hermoso, who was brought in to replace Oshoala, wrapped up the tie with a goal in the 85th minute to end the game 5-0.
