Super Falcons and Barcelona forward, Asisat Oshoala, is leaving no room for doubters as she continues her journey to the top of the Liga Iberdrola scoreboard.

The Nigerian scored Barcelona’s opener in their 2-0 away win against Atletico Madrid, at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, taking her goal tally for FCB Ladies to five goals in five matches.

The Game

The closely contested encounter took off with both teams looking to make a big statement to the rest of the League.

Atletico Madrid wanted a win at all cost, to extend the distance between them and second placed Barcelona on the Liga Iberdrola table.

However, the rather gutsy Barcelona Ladies outwitted the hosts to take home a well deserved win.

Oshoala, grabbed the opener in the 65th minute of the encounter, giving Barcelona an edge over the already troubled Atletico Madrid.

In the 73rd minute, Oshoala was substituted for Duggan, and within 7 minutes of playtime, Duggan scored, to give FCB Ladies an unassailable lead.

Atletico tried to get back into the game in order to save face, however, their plans bounced right off Barcelona’s thick defense, ending the match 2-0 in favor of the visitors.

The match, which had a massive turnout of about 60,739 fans, set a new world record attendance for a women’s match between two club sides.
