Osaze Settles Rift with Club, West Bromwich Albion

Nigeria International player, Peter Osaze Odemwingie has settled the rift with his club side, West Bromwich Albion and will return to full training with the first team squad. West Brom’s Chairman, Jeremy Peace and coach, Steve Clarke had a brief meeting and decided to fine Osaze two weeks’ wages – a punishment he accepted. Osaze travelled from the Midlands to London in order to force a transfer to fellow premier league side, Queens Park Rangers on deadline day although a fee had not been agreed between the two clubs. This left his Chairman, the coaching staff, players and the fans livid. He had been training on his own since the incident but has been asked to resume full training with his team mates. The striker, who became a father a few weeks back, rued his actions and said he apologised “to the club and our supporters for any distress I have caused”. “I understand how my actions have been viewed. I want to reassure everyone at the club and our fans that I will continue to give my all whenever I am selected. “We have enjoyed a good season so far and I aim to play my part in keeping the club as high up the table as possible.” Albion chairman Jeremy Peace was happy to close this inglorious chapter of the club. He said “This has been an extremely difficult time for the club and it was imperative that we dealt with such a serious matter both fully and correctly. “Peter has apologised for his conduct to me personally and the club and our supporters as a whole.” He also said Osaze “has accepted his punishment and promised to comply with all club regulations”. Osaze was left out of his team’s lone goal loss against premier League flyers, Tottenham Hotspur at home but he is expected to make a comeback this weekend.
