Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has become the first Nollywood star to receive the Black Entertainment Films Fashion Television and Arts, BEFFTA, icon award. She received the award in London on Saturday for her contribution to the Nigerian movie industry and other efforts for the growth of the global movie industry. A Ghanaian DJ, DJ Abrantee is another African that received the award. Speaking after receiving the award, Omotola, said that, “There are so many people to thank for bringing me to this level. Special thanks goes to my husband for always being there, everyone that I have worked with but most importantly my fans. I love my fans so much, they are very supportive.” Connect Nigeria congratulates Omotola, and we wish her many more success in her burgeoning career.
