Former Super Eagles international and Bundesliga legend, Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, will be leading a team of ex-veterans and other selected players against a defensive wall marshaled by former Barcelona defender, Carles Puyol, at the ‘Unmissable Match’ in Uyo on April 16th.
Okocha will lead the ‘Shine-Shine Bobo’ squad against a Puyol-led ‘Chairman Team’, which represents the official partner of UEFA and UEFA Champions League.
Puyol is a three-time winner of the UEFA Champions League with Barca in 2006, 2009 and 2011.
Okocha, on the other hand, has featured in three World Cups for Nigeria in 1994, 1998 and 2002, and is one of the top 125 living footballers, one of only five African players, to make it to Brazilian legend, Pele’s world greatest footballers list.
The Unmissable Match
The ‘Unmissable Match’ will feature two halves of 20 minutes each, with an array of footballers from teams such as Akwa United and selected ex-Nigeria internationals Mutiu Adepoju, Daniel Amokachi, Austin Eguavoen and Uche Okechukwu.
The players will be randomly selected into both teams captained by Okocha and Puyol.
In a video that has begun making the rounds on social media, Okocha has called on football fans across the country to come out in droves and be part of the thrill in Uyo.
