Requirements for Participation
Applicants for the OID Seyi Makinde Essay Competition must meet the following criteria:
- Hold residency status or be indigenous to Oyo State.
- Currently enrolled as a student at any accredited Nigerian educational institution.
- Fall within the age range of 18 to 35 years.

Awards and Recognition
Successful participants in the OID Seyi Makinde Annual Essay Competition will receive the following rewards:
- ₦1,000,000 – Champion Prize
- ₦500,000 – Runner-up Prize
- ₦250,000 – Third Place Prize
- The top 50 participants will be awarded scholarships for Leadership Academy Training, along with OID Global Participation Certificates.

Essay participants must choose ONE TOPIC ONLY from the following options:
- Redefining the Future: The Role of Youth in Advancing Artificial Intelligence and Technological Innovation for Oyo State’s Development
- Reimagining Agriculture in Oyo State: Holistic Approaches to Advancing Climate-Smart farming, Promoting Food Security, and Driving Progress Toward the SDGs
- From State to Nation to Globe: Catalysing a Sustainable Future through Visionary Leadership, Youth Innovation, and Civic Engagement
- Greening the Economy: Mobilising Community Action and Clean Energy Solutions for Environmental Sustainability in Oyo State
