Former Super Eagles star forward, Osaze Odemwingie scored a lone goal and made two assists for Madura United in their 3-1 home win against Barito Putera in the Indonesian Super League on Sunday.
Odemwingie, who was away for three months on the injury, was in action for his team last weekend in their 4-3 away win against Persiba scoring a goal to mark his return.
He has now scored a total of 15 goals in 22 league appearances for Madura so far this season.
Nigerian-born Indonesian International, Greg Nwokolo, was first to put in a goal on Sunday for Madura in the 21st minute after an assist from Odewinge. No goals were recorded until the extra three minutes of half-time when Odewinge made another assist for Fachrudin Aryanto who made it 2-0.
In the 54th minute, Rizky Rizal Ripora put a goal in for Barito Putera to put the scores at 2-1. But in the 65th minute, Odemwingie scored for Madura to secure their win.
Madura are now fourth on 60 points, three points behind leaders Bhayangkara FC.
In the English Championship, Nigerian forward Sone Aluko was on target for Reading who whupped Derby County 4:2 in an away match on Saturday.
Aluko scored his second league goal of the season in the 13th minute, just after Liam Moore gave Reading the lead in the ninth minute.
Roy Beerens put in a goal for Reading in the 54th minute to secure their three goal lead, but Johnny Russell pulled a goal back for Derby in the 71st minute. Modou Barrow scored in the 74th minute to restore Reading’s three-goal advantage. Chris Martins scored Derby’s second goal in the 90th minute to end the game 4:2
Reading FC has climbed up to position 18th on 18 points, while Derby is sixth on 25 points in the Championship league table.
