A brilliant header from Adedayo Olamilekan in the 56th minute of the game was all the home side needed to claim all three points. Remo Stars have been unbeaten in the league with 11 points from five games. Rivers United settled for a 0-0 draw in Minna against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.

Eight-time champions Enyimba FC returned to winning ways and moved up to the third spot on the league table after a 1-0 home win against Shooting Stars of Ibadan. The Finidi George led Peoples Elephant had suffered back to back defeats at the hands of Kano Pillars and Rivers United before earning a hard-fought win on Sunday courtesy of an 86th-minute tap-in from Godwin Emmanuel. Enyimba now has 9 points from five games.

The biggest result of the matchday 5 saw Sunshine Stars wallop Kano Pillars 3-0. Kamaru Adebari’s 68th-minute strike and Michael Olulasi’s brace in the 69th and 79th minute was all the home side needed to see off the former league champions.
