Plateau United reclaimed top spot in the Nigerian Professional Football League after beating Dakkada FC 2-0 on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at the New Jos Stadium. Goals from Tosin Omoyele and Oche Ochowechi was all the Jos-based side needed to see off the visitors and go top of the league log with 36 points from 20 games.

Last week’s table toppers Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, after suffering an away 4-0 defeat at the hands of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, dropped to second spot on the league table. Braces from Manu Garba and Idris Guda, was enough to ensure the North-East side triumphed over the middle-belt side. The only away win in the league was registered at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, after Rangers suffered a 2-1 home loss against Akwa United. A 13th minute strike from Ndifreke Effiong put the visitors ahead but Kenechukwu Agu brought the game to a stalemate in the 55th minute. The visitors would have the day after a 70th minute strike from Akarandut Orok left the away fans jubilant in Enugu.

In Kano, MFM was edged out by Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium after Usman Babalolo’s 23rd minute goal was not replied by the Lagosians.
