Strikes from Utibe Archibong and Austine Ogunye handed the home side victory as Nasir Jubrin’s lone strike meant the Bauchi-based side returned home with a goal deficit. Lobi Stars now sit at the league summit with 35 points from 19 games.

A hard fought 1-0 win against Kwara United at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt, saw Rivers United maintain 3rd spot on the league log. Stanley Eguma’s men held on to a 67th minute goal scored by Konan Ruffin N’Gouan from the spot to emerge victorious on Sunday. Defending league champions, Enyimba FC, came out top of the Abia derby, after seeing out neighbors, Abia Warriors 2-1. Austin Oladapo’s opener in the first half was canceled out by Okon Otop in the 58th minute before Stanley Dimgba’s decider in the 76th minute ensured Enyimba came out top of the clash.

In Lagos, MFM ended Kano Pillars’ unbeaten run in the league after a 3-1 victory at Agege Stadium. The Olukoya Boys rallied back from a 36th minute Auwalu Ali opener to claim victory after a brace from Clement Ogwu (brace) and a solo effort from Adewole Adeniji gave the Lagos crowd something to cheer about on Sunday.
