The Queen of Afrohouse, Niniola, will be bringing down the roof this weekend at the The Human Radio Concert in Lagos.
The concert is scheduled for Friday, 9th of November at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, and will feature Reminisce, Aramide, Mayorkun, Mr Real, Terry Apala, Slimcase, Immaculate, Johnny Drille, Teni, Oladips, Godwin Strings, GreyC, Tyson Noir and Soti. DJ Dips and DJ Crowd Kontroller will man the disk jockey consoles.
The concert is named after Niniola’s secondary school nickname; she had her own “request show”, in which she would sing whatever song was requested to the utter delight and amazement of her schoolmates.
Niniola Apata
Niniola Apata’s meteoric rise to fame began with her finishing fourth on the sixth season of MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2013. She released her well-received debut single,Ibadi, in 2014, and was nominated at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards in the “Most Promising Act to Watch” category.
She went on to win “Best African Collaboration” for the song Mbilo Mbilo remix at the AFRIMMA Awards in 2016. Nigerian Teens Choice Awards named her “Choice Female Vocalist of the Year” 2017, and in 2018 she won Maya Awards’ Youth Artist of The Year and Glazia Awards’ Person Of The Year. She is currently signed to Drumroll Records.
The Human Radio Concert is coming barely a week after the video release of Niniola’s latest single Bana. The concert is organized by Drumroll Records, with support from some of Africa’s biggest brands, including MTV Base, Taxify and Soundcity.
