SUNDERLAND 1-3 LIVERPOOL Victor Moses made the Liverpool lineup for Luis Suarez return to action in the league after serving his 10-game suspension for biting Chelsea defender, Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield towards the end of last season. The Uruguayan grabbed the headlines when he scored a brace to give his side a well deserved win over manager-less Sunderland. Moses was pulled out in the second half for Raheem Sterling. Tiago Ilori and Jordan Ibe who are eligible for Nigeria were on the bench for the Merseyside club. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 1-1 CHELSEA Despite last week’s heroics, there was no place for John Mikel Obi in Chelsea’s squad for their trip to neighbours, Spurs. The game ended in a one-all draw. Icelandic midfielder, Gyfigi Sigurdsson opened the scoring in the first half but John Terry restored parity with a well taken header. FULHAM 1-2 CARDIFF CITY Peter Osaze Odemwingie made his Premier League first start for the Bluebirds. He was replaced in the 81st minute by captain, Craig Bellamy. Steven Caulker and Jon Mutch made sure Osaze and his teammates went home with maximum points. Bryan Luiz scored for Fulham who have now gone seven Premier League games at home without a win. HULL 1-0 WESTHAM Sone Aluko produced another fine performance for premier league new comers, Hull City as they won their second consecutive game. Robert Brady scored from the spot to take City to seventh on 10points. Aluko was substituted in the 89th minute. MANCHESTER UNITED 1-2 WEST BROM Victor Anichebe and his team mates produced the shock of the weekend, stunning the Old Trafford faithful with a victory at the famous ground. Morgan Amalfitano breezed past the United defence before delicately chipping the ball over David De Gea to give the Baggies the lead. Wayne Rooney equalised with a sublime free kick but Saido Berahino had the last laugh with his first Premier League goal; a fierce drive from the edge of the area squirmed past the defence and the United keeper. This is United’s worst start to a league campaign after six games and it isn’t in title defence form. The pressure is on David Moyes to turn things around.
