The defensive midfielder replaced Brazilian, Willian on the 75th minute with a 4-2 score. However, Chelsea conceded a goal just a minute after his introduction after their former employee, Samuel Eto’o reduced the deficit for Everton. Chelsea went berserk with two late goals from Ramirez and Diego Costa to cap off a fine performance. Although the season is still young, Chelsea are now favourites to win the English Premier League. SWANSEA 3-0 WEST BROM Record signing, Brown Ideye took advantage of injury to compatriot, Victor Anichebe and started his first EPL game for his new side but couldn’t stop his side from falling to a rejuvenated Swansea City side. Ideye is yet to open his account in four games for the Baggies and missed a penalty in midweek Carling Cup third round fixture against Oxford United. Ideye, 26, will be hoping to open his account in earnest and repay the club’s investment in him. NEWCASTLE 3-3 CARDIFF CITY Nigerian youngster, Sammy Ameobi is yet to be named in Newcastle squad for any of their EPL games this season. The lanky winger cum striker is set to be sent out on loan to a championship club for more game time. This place in the squad has been blocked by recent signings, the emergence of Roland Aarons who scored a goal at the weekend and the return to form of Gabriel Obertan who was deemed surplus to requirements in July. MANCHESTER CITY 0-1 STOKE CITY Victor Moses made his first EPL debut for Stoke City in their shock win at the Etihad Stadium. The winger put in a decent display and was replaced at 80 minutes by Spanish defender, Marc Muniesa as Stoke City’s coach Mark Hughes tinkered an unexpected win. His colleague, Osaze Odemwingie was a 46th minute substitute for Irish player, Jonathan Walters. ASTON VILLA 2-1 HULL CITY Sonie Aluko came off the bench, for disappointing Tom Huddlestone, in the 71st minute of a cracking encounter at Villa Park but couldn’t rally his team to leave with a point. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Jordon Ibe has joined Championship outfit, Derby County on a season-long loan after finding playing time hard to come by at Anfield. Manchester City may send Kelechi Iheanacho, who shone at the US pre-season tour, out on loan as the transfer window comes to an end today by 11pm Nigerian time.
