Arsenal Football Club of England have announced the departure of Nigerian midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali. The 2015 FIFA Under 17 World Cup champion has joined Spanish Segunda B side, SD Huesca on a three-year contract. Nwakali joined Arsenal in 2016 after captaining the Nigerian U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, to victory at the cadet tournament where he was awarded the Golden Ball as best player in the competition.
Kelechi Nwakali has joined SD Huesca in a permanent deal, which is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
Since joining the North London club, Nwakali have had to go through a series of loan spells before finally settling with SD Huesca. The gifted Nigerian midfielder spent the first half of the 2017/2018 season on loan at Dutch Eredivisie side, VVV Venlo, before he joined MW Maastricht. For both clubs, Nwakali played 30 matches prior to returning to Arsenal. For the 2018/2019 campaign, he was loaned to Portuguese giants, FC Porto. Nwakali is the third Nigerian player to leave Arsenal in this transfer window after Xavier Amaechi and Alex Iwobi.
