Nigeria’s football king, Nwankwo Kanu, has urged Manchester United’s Odion Ighalo to rescind his decision of retiring from the Super Eagles, and help the Super Eagles attain greater heights. At 30, Kanu believes that Ighalo, who made a winter transfer deadline day switch to Manchester United still has a lot to offer the African football giants. An impressive start to life at Manchester has seen Ighalo score thrice in seven outings, something the two-time African Footballer of the Year believes is proof of Ighalo’s qualities.
Nigeria needs every good player no matter where they are playing or their age…If he performs in Manchester United, we will ask him to come back and tell him to forget what he said…This is football and we have to watch and see how the situation would unfold. Not just Ighalo, Nigeria need whoever is in form.
