Scottish-based Nigerian forward, Joseph Aribo, has vowed to stick with the Nigerian national team despite being eligible to play for England, his country of birth.
The Glasgow Rangers’ forward is one of the new invitees to the Super Eagles camp after a series of impressive performances in the Scottish Premier League, which has seen him score four goals for the Scottish giants so far in the 2019/2020 season.
Aribo, who has also played for English side, Charlton Athletic, in the past, is hoping to make his debut for the West African side in the international friendly against Ukraine tonight, September 10, 2019. Aribo, who shares the same football agent with other Super Eagles stars like Alex Iwobi, Joshua Maja, and Ola Aina, has described himself in a YouTube video uploaded by the Super Eagles media team as a midfielder that possess offensive and defensive qualities, and is hoping the Dnipro clash will not be his last for the Eagles.
I am Joseph Aribo. I am from Ondo State. I play for Glasgow Rangers. I am really happy to have got this call-up to Nigeria and I just want to make the most of it and play as long as possible and just do what I can for the team and make sure that we continue being the best that we can be… I am a central midfielder and I like to get in and around the box.
