Former Super Eagles of Nigeria’s striker, Odion Ighalo, has been nominated for the prize of Player of the Month for Manchester United for his outstanding performances in the month of March, 2020. The English side made the announcement via their twitter handle on Monday, March 16, 2020. A four man shortlist which includes Ighalo, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, and Fred, are gunning for the monthly prize for the club’s most outstanding player. Winner will emerge through voting by fans of Manchester United.

So far, the Nigerian striker has been impressive since joining the Manchester based side in the winter transfer deadline day, on loan from Chinese League outfits, Shanghai Shenhua. A brace in United’s fifth round 3-0 victory over Derby County in the Emirates FA Cup, and an opener in Manchester United’s Europa League first leg round of 16 5-0 away win over LASK were all the ex-Eagles star needed to be on the four man shortlist.

Ighalo’s superb left-foot volley took his goal tally to 3 goals out of four games in the month of March, 2020. His wonder goal and impressive performance against LASK saw him listed in the Europa League Team of the Week.
