Nigerian winger, Victor Moses cut a desolated figure on Liverpool bench at Upton Park. The win took Liverpool back to the top of the league. Moses, who has been on the fringes of the team lately, has made just 15 premier league appearances, scoring one goal. However, he is set to receive a winners’ medal if Liverpool lift the Premier League title at the end of the season.
HULL CITY 1-0 SWANSEA CITY
Sonie Aluko made yet another appearance from the bench for the home side, replacing fellow striker Shane Long in the 64
th minute of the encounter. Aluko is yet to start a game since returning from injury; the duo signing of Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic hasn’t helped his chances either.
NEWCASTLE UNITED 0-4 MAN UTD
Shola Ameobi was handed another substitute appearance in 4-0 drubbing against reigning EPL champions, Manchester United on Saturday. The Nigerian striker is yet to score in over two hours of league football. He will be looking to break the dock and increase his hopes and chances of making the plane to Brazil in the summer. His brother, Sammy did not make the team for the game.
NORWICH 0-1 WEST BROM
Joseph Yobo played all 90 minutes alongside his Cameroonian defense partner, Sebastian Bassong as the Canaries slumped to another defeat at Carrow Road. The loss pushes Norwich into the relegation dog fight, alongside Cardiff City, Sunderland and Fulham.
CHELSEA 3-0 STOKE CITY
Peter Odemwingie, who has been in goal scoring form in recent weeks, played all maximum minutes in the game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge but couldn’t add to his goal tally. His fellow Super Eagles colleague, John Mikel Obi failed to make the Chelsea team for the encounter. There are speculations the ace will leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
