Chukwuemeka made his senior debut for Dean Smith’s men as an 88th-minute substitute for Marvelous Nakamba, in a thrilling 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, May 19, 2021. An eight-minute strike from Steven Bergwijn had gifted Tottenham the lead, but an own goal from Sergio Reguilon and an Ollie Watkins strike were enough to see off the Ryan Mason led Spurs. Chukwuemeka is just 17 and is a future prospect for Aston Villa and the Nigerian national team, though he is also eligible to play for England, his country of birth. Reacting to his senior debut, Chukwuemeka described it as the ‘’proudest moment,’’ of his football career.
