Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s ‘Americanah’, a fictional novel about race and identity, has won the prestigious National Book Critics Circle prize for fiction. Adichie’s novel was selected over ‘The Goldfinch’ by author Donna Tartt and three other finalists. Other winners at the event held yesterday in Manhattan, New York, includes Frank Bidart’s ‘Metaphysical Dog’ for poetry and Franco Moretti’s ‘Distant Reading’ among the others.
